 Need for new school facilities in southeast region  Site was identified in 2009 study as best option in the

area for development of future school facilities

  • 32-acre site, adjacent to existing 18-acre school site
  • Undeveloped parcel, one of few in the region
  • Preliminarily approved by Department of Education

 Board approved Purchase Agreement on Sept. 9, 2015

($3.4 million), with contingencies

  • Required investigations – outcomes were satisfactory
  • Public hearing and adoption of resolution making findings

Conduct Public Hearing, to:

  • Determine conformity of Southeast School Site Acquisition and Development

Project with Department of Education (CDE) school site selection standards

Adopt Resolution 16-06, which:

  • Adopts the Mitigated Negative Declaration for the Southeast School Site

Acquisition and Development Project

  • Finds that the Southeast School Site conforms to CDE school site selection

standards

  • Approves the Southeast School Site Acquisition and Development Project
  • Authorizes Superintendent/designee to secure CDE approval
  • Authorizes Superintendent/designee to close escrow and acquire the site

  • Site to be developed with maximum flexibility

 Vision Phase: High school for future enrollment

  • Add regular/CTE/lab classrooms, core and athletic facilities
  • Elementary could move to modernized campus to the west
