Difference Between Parish and Church

❑ A parish is a territory

(geographic region), with people and a priest(s)

❑ Churches are sacred buildings

designated for divine worship

❑ In January 2021, our 2 parishes

will merge into one new parish. The current parishes will cease, and we will become one new entity.

▪ Currently….

▪ A large percent of total Offertory dollars come from a small

group of generous contributors.

▪ Numerous parishioners have not contributed to Parish Share

the last couple of years and this has impacted our overall financial stability.

Finances – Key Takeaways

To be a financially viable parish going forward:

  • 1. After the merger, a campaign will be

launched to increase offertory income.

  • 2. Expenses must be monitored and controlled.
  • 3. We must meet and exceed our Parish Share goal

each year.

  • f the Eucharist, his complete devotion

to the poor and holy life in the modern world.

Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati

We need all the help we can get and who better to help us find peace. She is Mother of the "Prince of Peace" who reconciled heaven and earth.

Mary, Queen of Peace

We live in communities with knots of poverty and racial injustice. The name

  • f Mary is a reminder of hope and

gentle patience that knots can be undone.

Our Lady Undoer of Knots

She wrote a lot about adoration of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. Her message of Divine Mercy is increasingly important to spread in the world today.

  • St. Faustina

He was a powerful evangelizer. The fruit

  • f that focus was unashamed love of

the poor and marginalized. He provides a guide for who we want to be as a Parish in our community.

  • St. Francis of Assisi

Most compelling are his qualities of conversation, listening and of dialog. Upon his Code of Arms is found “Cor ad Cor”, heart to heart, or God speaks to us in the new evangelization.

  • St. John Henry Newman

49

SLIDE 50

Saint John Paul II was a unifier; actively working to repair injustices and suffering.

  • St. Josephine Bakhita

He cared both for the brothers of his

  • rder and for the poor of his city. St

  • St. Martin de Porres

They are the original "apostles to the apostles" which we need to imitate as serving one another both inside and

  • utside our parish. We in our new

community need to continue on in that service of others and build the Kingdom

  • f God in Love, Mercy & Justice.
