Workgroups and Products #2b

slide-18
SLIDE 18
  • Federated Education Platform: Harmonizing Competencies
  • Survey to identify how educators prioritize training in the 97 CTSA Core

Competencies based on career phenotype

  • Respondents identified which level of mastery they felt was appropriate:
  • Exposure: Introduction to the competency and meaningful/relevant vocabulary
  • Application: More substantial skills training used to initiate and implement a specific

research endeavor within a mentored experience or ultimately with collaborators

  • Integration: In-depth training with a goal for the learner to become independent in using

the skills in their own research

  • N/A: Training is not required for this phenotype

Workgroups and Products #3a

slide-19
SLIDE 19
  • Federated Education Platform: Harmonizing Competencies
  • Phenotypes: Preclinical, Clinical, Community Engaged,

Dissemination/Implementation, Public Health, Data Science/Analytics

  • Analysis focused on Preclinical, Clinical, Community Engaged
  • Paper submitted

Workgroups and Products #3b

slide-20
SLIDE 20
  • Measures of Impact
  • Identify effective and feasible measures for assessing the impact of workforce

development initiatives that extend beyond measuring publications, academic appointments and grantsmanship

  • Possible other measures of impact
  • Mentoring, Team science, Diversity, Career Sustainability, Translational Pipeline,

Individual Characteristics, Research Impact

  • Deliverable: Shared set of metrics for CTSA hubs with future goal to validate.

Workgroups and Products #4 (new)

slide-21
SLIDE 21
  • What are foundational knowledge, skills and abilities for researchers

working across the lifespan?

  • Develop training in each category of mastery
  • Begins to inform Individual Development Plans and career development plans
  • Collaboration with KL2 Programs: dissemination of training material

and tools, identify gaps

  • Highlight mentoring expertise in lifespan areas to explore formal

relationships and/or consults

Early Life Exposure (ELE) WG Update

  • Friday, July 26th - Rita Hamad (University of California, San Francisco) and Gretchen Bandoli

(University of California, San Diego) will be presenting.

  • Friday, September 27th - Mamta Fuloria (Albert Einstein College of Medicine) and Heidi Hanson

(University of Utah) will be the presenting.

  • We are working on an option to make the presentations available to a broader

audience.

‒ CLIC has cut and posted them on the ELE WG page and they can be accessed by ELE WG members. ‒ We do not currently have consent forms for the presentations and can’t make them widely available at this time. ‒ Shari recommended giving presenters the option of posting through our Lifespan Enterprise Committee, the CLIC website to connect to other CTSI’s, or preference for not posting. We will collect this information from past and future presenters.
